ABOUT THE PLAY

By Tsimaras Tzanatos

Directed by: Theodoros Espiritou

In a dystopian environment, a seemingly everyday person converses with a mysterious figure, which may be a figment of his imagination or the realization of himself through the mirror. He tries, invoking the memories of the past and with the persistent help of this mysterious figure, to understand his true identity by detaching from him everything that has been imposed on him, to realize his place in the world and finally to understand who the real enemy is.

“Pendulity” is characterized by its narrative character while moving to the limits of fiction, in a world where reality – a constructed reality– is imposed on every citizen, without leaving him any choice. In a world projected as rational, man is forced into irrational behaviors until the part that authority plays in his life is revealed and the final realization comes.
